Bindu Queer Seed Fund Initiative

I, Bindumadhav Khire the founder of Samapathik Trust am taking a tiny step in this direction towards self-reliance and self-empowerment as I step into the 50th year on my birthday falling on 21st June 2017. Starting today I am starting the “BINDUMADHAV KHIRE QUEER GRANT”. I will donate a minimum of 1 lakh Rs. every year for a minimum of 15 years to be used for giving small grants to other organizations or groups working on LGBTI empowerment in India.” Source
Diwali Lonely Hearts Dinner
It is seen that during Festivals like Diwali (or Christmas in the US/Europe) lonely LGBTI community members are more prone to depression. So Samapathik Trust, Pune has yearly tradition (from 2012) for those lonely LGBTI community members (and non-community members too) who are not going to their homes (for whatever reason) to celebrate Diwali. Bold Transgender Modeling Agency

The agency is the brain child of Rudrani Chettri, a Delhi-based transgender activist and head of Mitr Trust. “The idea came out of a feeling of frustration as I saw many young beautiful transgenders who are made to feel ugly from a young age. G.H.A.R., (Gay Housing Assistance Resource) which means ‘home’ in many Indian languages. It is a FREE all-India location-based, short-, medium- and long-term accommodation resource bulletin board for LGBTIQ people and allies who are or plan to be renters, roommates, flatmates or owners in India. Keeping up with the evolution of the internet,the group has moved from started on E-groups (1998), moved to Yahoogroups (2001) and then to Facebook (2012). (Source)

Samanwaya Programme
A first of its kind in the country launched by Kerala’s state Literacy Mission, as many as 145 transgenders are attending classes across the state and are preparing for the Classes IV, VII, X and higher secondary equivalency exams. Read more

In an effort to bring transgender persons in the district together and encourage them to take up entrepreneurial ventures, the Malappuram district Kudumbashree Mission has launched two exclusive units popularly called as Ayalkoottam (neighbourhood group).
